Wow, what a tour. If you are a WWII history buff then Dover is the place for you as Hell-fire corner has a ton of it. This being one of the best things to visit, the Deep Shelter that should have been Deep Acommodation, is amazing. The tour guides were great and the work they are doing on this patch of land with the bunkers and gun batteries is brilliant. In 1973 Kent County tried to erase it's wartime history, as it found it to be an eye-sore, and didn't want to see it. All the bunkers were bulldozed and buried so no one could find them, save a few locals and urban explorers who broke into them. When National Trust (NT) were informed of what lay on there newly purchased land they raised the funds to dig it up, make it presentable, and show it off; Awesome project. We just need them to do the same with Dumpy B Communications Bunker. Not disabled accessible. Cash payment only at the bunker if not an NT member.

This is about 20-30 minutes walk from the National Trust visitor center along the main path. The tours are guided and include a hard hat with a light I arrived early so there were only a few people in the group. The brilliant, knowledgeable and friendly volunteer guides are very happy to answer any questions. Really good to hear their insights and they make the tour more meaningful. Very interesting story of the shelter from inception until recent times. Highly recommend detour.

Spend the money and do this! We loved it, very interesting and the guides were very nice and knowledgeable. We had Rod! It was a very unique experience and we're happy we did it. We didn't have cash on us but they gave us a receipt and we were able to pay at the lighthouse. You will go down stairs to reach the tunnels. They provide a hard hat with a light.

A interesting piece of WW2 history. Three 15 inch costal defence gun bunkers (the guns have long gone) installed into the cliffs of Dover complete with an extensive underground bunker and all being exposed. All open and vistable. All a little raw at the moment as it's a new site but it will get more established in time. Great walk on the cliff tops to get there.

This was brilliant. Visited last week and the guide was Peter. The tour was fascinating, educational and funny. Add to that the beautiful, healthy walk, the jaw-dropping views, tea at the lighthouse. A truly wonderful 3-4 hours.

Didnt know this existed before today when i was trekking to the lighthouse. I had a lovely day with tour guides Don, Glen/Glyn and Ione/Elaine(sorry if i butchered youre names). Glen gave a great tour. Would definitely recommend another go when im back in dover. Sorry no pictures inside the tunnel as its pretty much same as everybody elses.

The tour guide was amazing, he knew every nook and cranny of the shelter. We had Dave as our guide and he was very funny and kept us engaged for the entire tour.
